Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022
It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her steadfast and selfless commitment to over seventy years of service to others has brought comfort, joy and unity to many millions of people across our communities, country and globe, not least during times of great challenge and uncertainty.
A sad day for our nation and across the globe, our thoughts are with members of the Royal Family at this time.
As a church founded institution, we also pay tribute to the Her Majesty played as the head of the Church of England throughout her extraordinary life and reign, with committed public service and duty to others.
In line with national guidance, our University will mark Her Majesty’s passing. We will provide further updates in due course to our staff and students on how we will be marking the mourning period , and as appropriate to recognise her incredible impact and the legacy her passing leaves.
