Since 2017, the University of Cumbria has played an increasingly important role across the county. 

As a large and mainly rural region, with an ageing population, the work of the university is highly valued by our diverse businesses and communities.

The future sustainability of Cumbria will require our workforce to increase its skills base whilst creating opportunities for all people in our communities; we are fortunate to have Julie and her team, leading the way on this.
