Fulfilling our mission: Supporting People, Place & Communities

The Borderlands Partnership recognised that one of the key enablers which will ensure the future prosperity of our region is the provision of higher-level skills. This will help produce the skilled workforce needed to enable existing businesses to flourish, and to attract the new businesses we will need if we are to fulfil our economic potential.

The transformational campus projects in Barrow and Carlisle are vital to that task and will help to attract and retain the young people we need to live and work here.

We live in challenging times, and the University of Cumbria is playing a key role in ensuring that our region can meet those challenges successfully and enrich the lives of all our citizens.
