Three receive honorary doctorates from Cumbria

Two of the country’s greatest engineering and education ambassadors and an internationally respected leader of occupational health education have received Honorary Doctorates from the University of Cumbria.

Ian and Mandy Sinker, pictured on 20 July 2023, at University of Cumbria graduations. The couple has enjoyed a 40-year connection to the university's Lancaster campus, formerly St Martin's College where they met as students and later married on campus with both continuing to work with the campus during their careers.

In the early 1980s, Ian Sinker and his future wife Mandy were students on the Lancaster campus which is now part of the University of Cumbria.
